The 2000 US Open – Tiger Woods

“That was the best performance I’ve ever seen,” said two-time U.S. Open champ Andy North. “Nothing else comes close.”

In the millennium US Open Tiger systematically took the Pebble Beach layout apart eventually carding a 12 under par total – 15 shots ahead of second place. Ernie Els the man who won the competition for 2nd place said, ”Finishing second is good. But it’s kind of embarrassing to finish 15 shots behind a guy.” Tiger’s wire-to-wire procession broke nearly every major championship scoring record.

He then went on to break more Major Championships the following month at St Andrews proving that this performance was no fluke, it was intact another exhibition from a golfer at the peak of his powers.
